Orlando, FL (October 19, 2013) – Orlando D-Riskers joined forces with over 50,000 others at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
The team of 20 D-Riskers, family, and friends was led by Bruce Otvos.
The Orlando Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is an annual 5k walk around Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. The event kicked off at 9:00 a.m. and provided live entertainment throughout the 3.2 mile course.
“This event was such an amazing show of support and it made me feel so good to help in the fight for the many people affected by breast cancer”, commented D-Risker Karen Mello.
The Orlando Digital Risk team exceeded their fundraising goal of $3,000 and raised over $4,000 for the American Cancer Society. The event itself raised more than $600,000, which will go towards research, education, and support for those fighting breast cancer.
“That was my first time doing a 5k walk”, said D-Risker Centria Robertson. “The best part was being able to be in something like this showing support for those who are fighting and who have lost the fight to breast cancer. It was fun to finish the walk and see everyone in the community come to support.”
