On October 14th, Digital Risk Co-Founder & Managing Director Jeffrey Taylor visited the J.P. Taravella High School Virtual Enterprises International (VEI) Chapter to kick off its 2016-2017 academic school year class.
This is the second class that Digital Risk is supporting at J.P. Taravella, located in Broward County, Florida. The VEI Program, which emphasizes college and career readiness, is being implemented in close to 400 secondary schools nationwide. Jeff sits on the national board for VEI and is proud of Digital Risk’s commitment to partner with the high school, supporting and mentoring over 20 bright young future businessmen and businesswomen.
During this visit, Jeff held one-on-one mentoring sessions with the chapter’s CEO and Head of HR on how to start a business and lead it to success. He also addressed the class about entrepreneurship, shared his experience, and answered questions from the students in attendance.
Jeff also discussed the mission statement and business strategy for the chapter’s virtual company, which is an environmentally friendly shoe making company. This year’s VEI class collectively decided to create a company that would acquire tires from landfills and repurpose them to be used in the formation of shoes.
Jeff and Digital Risk’s Marketing Team will continue the partnership throughout the academic school year by holding marketing strategy and project management mentoring sessions and helping the chapter prepare for VEI’s Annual State and National Business Competitions.
Digital Risk has also began a partnership with Lyman High School’s inaugural VEI chapter for the 2016-2017 academic school year. Stay tuned for more news about the chapters and these aspiring businessmen and businesswomen.
